Nieuws MEDEDELING !!

Omschrijving | "The Light Of Ancient Mistakes" is the seventh
album
from "Hats Off...".
While not a traditional concept album, many of the
songs were inspired by books.
The centerpiece of the album is Walking To
Aldebaran,
inspired by Adrian Tchaikovsky`s sci-fi novel of
the
same name. The titles "Avrana Kern Is Made Of
Ants",
"The Requisitioner and the Wonder" and "Gothi and
Gethli" are references to a character, two
starships
and a pair of crow-like creatures appearing in
Adrian
Tchaikovsky`s "Avrana Kern Is Made Of Ants".
stubbornly denying being sentient ("Children of
Time"
series).
Science fiction author Iain M Banks` novel "Look
To
Windward" is the inspiration for the theme song.
The
title "The Man Who Japed" is named after the novel
by
Philip K. Dick.
The childhood experiences of David Cornwell, who
wrote
as John le Carré, are the inspiration for Sixteen
Hugless Years.
The Glamour Boys was inspired by Labor MP Chris
Bryant`s book of the same name, about the
experiences
of a group of predominantly gay or bisexual
Conservative MPs who opposed appeasement despite
threats from the Chamberlain government to divulge
their secrets. Many took risks during World War II
and
in some cases lost their lives.
The album also includes "The Anxiety Machine," a
three-part instrumental interspersed throughout
the
album, "Goodbye Cassini," a flute-played tribute
to
the spacecraft, and "imtiredandeverythinghurts,"
which
explores Malcolm`s experiences with an invisible
disability due to Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and the
difficulty of answering the well-intentioned
routine
question "How are you?"?
The album closes with the climate change-inspired
"Burn The World."
Hats Off Gentlemen It‘s Adequate are Malcolm
Galloway
and Mark Gatland on their own or with Kathryn
Thomas
(flute).
They combine prog/alt-rock, funk, metal, ambient,
contemporary classical, minimalist, and
electronica
elements, and often explore scientific themes. |
